Bad Decisions Returns to Pixelated Records in Ridgewood on October 22

Pins & Needles Comedy presents Bad Decisions on Thursday, October 22 at Pixelated Records, 792 Onderdonk Ave, Ridgewood, New York City, 11385. Doors open at 8:30 PM and the show starts at 9:00 PM. It is free and 21+. Costumes are encouraged. The night is produced by stand-up comedian Taylor Drew, who created Pins & Needles Comedy, hosts the room and runs the lineup.

Who is on the bill

The October 22 lineup is John Bennett, Hózhó, Liam Goggins, Cody Clarke and Mustafe Mussa. Taylor Drew hosts. How Bad Decisions works

The audience writes the second half of the show. A QR code goes up in the room an hour before showtime. You scan it and send in a decision you have made, or one you are still turning over. A line is fine. The whole story is also fine.

Then the comics do stand-up. An hour of sets, so by the time anyone has an opinion about your life, you know exactly who is handing it out. After that, the host draws two or three submissions at random and reads them. If yours gets pulled, you get a microphone where you are sitting. You can add detail, defend yourself, or let five comedians sort it out while you sit there.

Nobody is required to land on a lesson. Not every mistake makes you a better person. Sometimes it just gives you something to talk about on a Thursday in Ridgewood.

What the room is like

Pixelated Records is a record shop, not a comedy club, which means the chairs are close and the stage is a few feet from the first row. That works in the show's favor. It is a small enough room that when someone admits they were the problem, everyone hears it.

Bad Decisions runs every other Thursday at 9:00 PM at Pixelated Records. The October 22 edition is the Halloween one, so the costume note on the flyer is sincere. Come as something. Or do not, and be the person in a jacket surrounded by witches and pirates.
